OpenRefine is a free, open source tool which offers a number of powerful functions to quickly and efficiently clean your data.

Installing OpenRefine

  1. Check installation instructions on the OpenRefine website for system requirements.
  2. Download OpenRefine. Select the download link for your computer's operating system.

NB! OpenRefine runs in a browser, like a web app, but does not require an internet connection to run. It automatically runs on your default browser and works best on browsers based on Webkit, such as Google Chrome, Chromium, Opera, Microsoft Edge or Safari. It is unstable when run on Firefox or Internet Explorer, so it is best to choose another default browser.
