LSEG Workspace Guide

How to self register for LSeG Workspace

Before you start

You need to have an active university email account because personal email addresses are not accepted by the LSEG registration system. Access is for academic, non‑commercial use only.

How to self register for an account

Step 1 – Go to the self‑registration page

  • Open a web browser and go to the LSEG Workspace self‑registration/MyAccount product registration page here.

Step 2 – Enter your university email

  1. On the registration page, enter your @universityofgalway.ie email address in the email field and select “Next”.
  2. If you try to use a personal email, the system may display an error such as “Email domain is not recognized,” so always use your official academic address.

Step 3 – Verify your email

  1. Open your university email inbox and look for a message from LSEG/Refinitiv confirming that you have started the self‑registration process.
  2. Click the verification link in the email to continue; if you do not see it, check your junk or spam folder, as verification messages can sometimes be filtered.

Step 4 – Complete your profile

  1. Fill in the registration form with your first name, last name, and other required details, choosing the most appropriate option for your role (for example, student, researcher, or faculty) in any “Reference” or “Job role” dropdown.
  2. Ensure that the product shown is “Workspace for Students” or the student‑appropriate Workspace option, which typically includes access to the web platform and Excel add‑in where permitted.

Step 5 – Create your password and sign in

  1. Create a secure password when prompted and make a note of your LSEG user ID (often your university email address) and password for future logins.
  2. After submitting the form and accepting the terms and privacy statement, you should be able to sign in to LSEG Workspace on the web and download the desktop app or use the included add‑ons.

Access duration and re‑registration

We have a licence for up to 50 users. Licences will be deactivated after 1 year and you will need to re-register after 1 year to continue using Workspace.
